They’re our highest-protein bars, are cleanly crafted with no artificial sweeteners or flavors, and are Informed-Sport certified. Here we’ve put together answers to all of your most frequently asked questions about AMPED Protein Bars.
What makes AMPED Protein Bars different from other protein bars?
AMPED Protein Bars are cleanly crafted with great-tasting, natural ingredients. They are Informed-Sport Certified, which means that every batch receives rigorous quality and purity testing so that competitive athletes can have total confidence that they are receiving a high-quality product.
Are AMPED Protein Bars designed for athletes?
With 28 grams of high-quality protein, AMPED Protein Bars are designed to support lean body mass and exercise recovery for hard-training athletes. Convenience is essential to meet the demands of intense training schedules. AMPED Protein Bars make it effortless for athletes to get the right amount of high-quality protein at the right time to support peak performance and maximize muscle recovery.
Who else can benefit from AMPED Protein Bars?
AMPED Protein Bars are suited for health-conscious consumers who want a convenient way to meet their daily protein needs. AMPED Protein Bars are a great choice for growing young adults looking to maximize their athletic performance and muscle recovery.
The higher protein level also promotes greater satisfaction and supports fat burning while building and maintaining lean muscle mass, ideal for busting through weight loss plateaus. They are even an excellent choice for older adults who are interested in maintaining muscle to support an active lifestyle.
How are AMPED Protein Bars different from IsaLean® Bars?
Both AMPED Protein Bars and IsaLean Bars offer a delicious and convenient option for quality nutrition, but each is formulated to support different goals. AMPED Protein Bars are designed to meet the nutritional needs of athletes and performance-focused individuals while IsaLean Bars are intended as a meal replacement bar to satisfy hunger and support health and weight loss goals.
How much protein is in AMPED Protein Bars?
AMPED Protein bars each contain 28 grams of high-quality protein from a whey-based protein blend that includes whey protein isolate, whey protein concentrate, and milk protein isolate. Whey is high in branched-chain amino acids, specifically leucine, which is considered the primary signal in stimulating muscle protein synthesis while preventing muscle breakdown (1-3). This combination provides an excellent amino acid profile for those needing an extra protein boost.
Are AMPED Protein Bars a safe choice for competitive athletes concerned about unintentional exposure to banned substances?
Yes! AMPED Protein Bars are Informed-Sport Certified, which means that every batch is tested under strict specifications by an independent laboratory to detect World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) banned substances. In addition, Informed-Sport also ensures that products have been manufactured to high quality and purity standards, in line with Isagenix no-compromise quality. Athletes who see the Informed-Sport logo on a product can be assured it has undergone rigorous testing to confirm that the product is free of banned substances and meets the highest quality standards.
What should I know about glycerin in AMPED Protein Bars?
Glycerin or glycerol is a sugar alcohol that is often used in foods to provide sweetness while maintaining a lower amount of sugar. It’s naturally found in a variety of foods including certain vegetables, nuts, and seeds as well as meat, poultry, and fish. AMPED Protein Bars contain a modest amount of glycerin, similar to many other common foods. Glycerin is not present at a level that poses a concern for competitive athletes. Because they are Informed-Sport Certified, athletes can be confident that AMPED Protein Bars have been rigorously evaluated to ensure compliance with WADA standards.
What is the nutrient breakdown of the AMPED Protein Bar?
Because they are cleanly crafted without artificial flavors or sweeteners, each flavor of AMPED Protein Bar varies slightly in nutritional profile. All AMPED Protein Bar varieties deliver 28 grams of high-quality protein while providing between 230-250 calories, 5-7 grams of fat, and 8 grams of net carbs, depending on which flavor you choose.
What are “net carbs”?
Not all carbohydrates have the same effect in the body. Calculating net carbs in a food is a way to identify the amount of carbohydrate that is likely to have an impact on blood sugar levels.
Net carbs are calculated by subtracting the grams of fiber and sugar alcohol in a food from the grams of total carbohydrate as shown below:
Total Carbohydrate – Fiber – Sugar Alcohols = Net Carbs
Why are AMPED Protein Bars shaped differently than IsaLean Bars?
The difference in the shape of each of these bars is related to differences in how they’re created during the manufacturing process. Depending on the flavor, IsaLean® Bars are either fully enrobed, partially enrobed, or include layering components to provide structure.
To achieve a higher level of protein in AMPED Protein Bars, they are not enrobed and do not have layers. Since they do not have these structure-supporting elements, AMPED Protein Bars may be less uniform in shape.
Will AMPED Protein Bars contain the same levels of nutrients regardless of shape or size?
After the production of every batch of AMPED Protein Bars, samples are weighed and measured against acceptable standards prior to release. Regardless of shape, you can feel confident that each delicious AMPED Protein Bar will deliver on its promise of providing 28 grams of muscle-building protein while being soft, chewy, and cleanly crafted without any artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners.
Is it normal for AMPED Protein Bars to be soft or sticky?
If you receive a bar that seems to be a little too soft or sticky, it’s possible you received a bar that is fresh off the production line. To keep these bars soft and chewy despite their high protein content, we use a combination of natural ingredients that help to maintain moisture for a soft and chewy texture. Although they may be a bit soft immediately after packaging, these bars will quickly develop a firmer texture under normal storage conditions.
